The wealthiest, most prestigious worlds in the galaxy.  Those who inhabited the Core Worlds usually had a distinctly clipped, superior accent, and were often regarded as snobs.  The capital of the galaxy for centuries under the leadership of the Galactic Republic, and later, the Galactic Empire was located on Coruscant, the most well known of the ecumenopoli in the Core. When the Galactic Republic was formed about one thousand years before the

onslaught of the Clone Wars,  the Core Worlds became ravenous. Granted permission to settle new planets and establish trading colonies, these worlds either cut deals with indigenous populations or simply overran them. With the rise of Mon Mothma's New Republic, the capital planet was elected each year by the Senate, occasionally taking the center of government far from the Core.

KEY

This symbol marks a world that was first created for a canon literary source (reference books, novels, young adult novels, etc.) Other entries with literary sources have Legends counterparts.

This symbol marks a world that was ‘canonized’ in a recent Fantasy Flight Games roleplaying sourcebook. Wookieepedia considers the FFG material fully canon but its mix of Legends and canon content puts it somewhere in the middle. I decided to include these worlds in the Archive, for inclusiveness.

This symbol marks an entry as a moon. And since moons can be just as populated and culturally or historically significant as a planet (think Nar Shaddaa and Yavin IV), the distinction was important.

This symbol marks an entry as a moon and created for a canon literary source.

This symbol marks a world that saw significant military conflict during the Clone Wars (22 BBY - 19 BBY).

This symbol marks a world that saw significant military conflict during the Galactic Civil War (0 BBY - 5 ABY).

This symbol marks a world that saw significant military conflict during the war between the First Order and the Resistance (34 ABY - ? BBY).

Note:

If a world's only "canon" source in Wookieepedia is The Force Awakens Beginner Roleplaying Game, it will not be included in this collection.

A warm, uncommonly tranquil planet famed for its tea, lengthy, erudite poetry and meditative retreats. Natives of Gatalenta were renowned for their calmness and serenity, and rose each day to thank the planet's multiple suns for rising. Love and compassion were taught and practiced fondly by the people of Gatalenta, and crying openly was considered a virtue and proof of a caring heart. The Gatalentan people were also known for living austerely, with the

only colorful parts of their attire being traditional red cloaks. They were ruled by the Council of Mothers. Slavery was illegal on the planet, and slaves were not allowed to be brought to the planet. If a slave was brought there, and their master was caught, the slave was set free. In the years before the Galactic Civil War, Gatalenta had a strong Jedi tradition, and the old Jedi legends remained alive on Gatalenta in spite of the Jedi Purge.

Corellian sector.
A moon that orbited the planet Neral and ruled by Ne'eda, Neral's Moon was the sector's greatest center for entertainment. Visitors could enjoy activities including Sabacc, Podracing, and Unta fish juggling. The

moon's premiere gaming parlor was Ne'eda's Tower, where its ruler resided. The terrain of the moon was covered in canals that were home to klinnet, a bioluminescent aquatic creature whose glow was visible from space.
