Wild Space was the name given to the unmapped expanse beyond the Outer Rim. It was located "off the edge of the map” where no one knew what was on the other side. In contrast, the so-called Unknown Regions were mapped but largely unexplored. Exploration into Wild Space had slowed during the Clone Wars. But when the Galactic Empire rose to power, travelers once again traversed
those mysterious systems, bolstered by the new government's Survey Corps. Demand for maps of Wild Space increased as a consequence, allowing cartographers to make a decent living by producing and selling them. Despite the increased interest in Wild Space, those who resided from it were not as well respected by some during this period.
This symbol marks a world that was first created for a canon literary source (reference books, novels, young adult novels, etc.) Other entries with literary sources have Legends counterparts.
This symbol marks a world that was ‘canonized’ in a recent Fantasy Flight Games roleplaying sourcebook. Wookieepedia considers the FFG material fully canon but its mix of Legends and canon content puts it somewhere in the middle. I decided to include these worlds in the Archive, for inclusiveness.
This symbol marks an entry as a moon. And since moons can be just as populated and culturally or historically significant as a planet (think Nar Shaddaa and Yavin IV), the distinction was important.
This symbol marks an entry as a moon and created for a canon literary source.
This symbol marks a world that saw significant military conflict during the Clone Wars (22 BBY - 19 BBY).
This symbol marks a world that saw significant military conflict during the Galactic Civil War (0 BBY - 5 ABY).
This symbol marks a world that saw significant military conflict during the war between the First Order and the Resistance (34 ABY - ? BBY).
If a world's only "canon" source in Wookieepedia is The Force Awakens Beginner Roleplaying Game, it will not be included in this collection.
A planet with a damp, clammy climate located on the very edge
of Wild Space. Before the birth of their daughter Lina, the
cartographers Auric and Rhyssa Graf visited that world. During
the reign of Emperor Palpatine, Agaris hosted an Imperial mining compound. (Adventures in Wild Space: The Cold)
A moon that orbited the planet Agaris in Wild Space. (Adventures in Wild Space: The Cold)
Morellia Commonwealth. (Star Wars: Aliens of the Galaxy)
A cool, swampy planet located in the Artiod
system of the Morellian Commonwealth that was
the homeworld of the Artiodac species. It was
discovered by Zygerrian slavers while trying to
escape Republic justice, who returned to the world
over the centuries to fill their slave pens with
Artiodacs and train them for sale.
A planet connected to the Endor system by a hyperspace route. Its capital city of Salis D’aar is conveniently laid in a circular pattern, making it easy for outsiders to navigate.
(Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series – Episode I)
A world that sat at the end of a
hyperspace route that traveled through Batuu,
Umme, Yakorki, Mokivj and Plood before reaching
Cermau. (Thrawn: Alliances)
The nickname of an uncharted swamp planet that was
discovered by Auric and Rhyssa Graf, who were arrested
by Captain Visler Korda of the Imperial Navy when he
claimed it for the Galactic Empire. (Adventures in Wild Space: The Escape)
A gas giant in the fifth orbital position of a star system located on the edge of Wild Space. The planet
had at least one prominent storm in its atmosphere, and its eye was crimson in color and visible from orbit.
Klytus V shared its name with Klytus V Station (Adventures in Wild Space: The Steal)
A largely undiscovered planet located in the galaxy's
Wild Space that was home to grasslands and plains and
was the homeworld of the Lynna species. (Lando's Luck)
A once-populated moon located in a far-off system centered around a dying star. During the age of the Old Republic, Lupal was home to a great civilization, a highly evolved culture that revered art and aesthetics, philosophy and tolerance. One of the moon's cities was called Thrass. When the system's star fractured,
horrible solar flares
devastated Lupal's population. There were few survivors. Years later Lupal was a ruin, overgrown
and littered with the detritus of the great cities that once covered its globe. It was inhospitable
and deserted, long ago abandoned to its fate. ("Blood Moon" - Dark Legends)
An isolated planet close to the Unknown
Regions where Eli Vanto grew up. (Star Wars: Thrawn)
At one point it was explored by the Graf
family. The planet included lifeforms such
as octopoids which communicated by changing
their skin patterns. (Adventures in Wild Space: The Cold)
A remote green-and-red planet on the very
edge of Wild Space. It is the homeworld of the
Zixon species. During the time following the
Battle of Crait, First Order forces were sent to
Minfar in search of a secret Imperial laboratory
and legendary weapon. They were met with resistance
from the native Zixon as well as operatives from
the Resistance. Ghikjil was an underground city
inhabited by the Zixon. (Spark of the Resistance. Region Identified in:

Pion system. (Adventures in Wild Space: The Cold)
From space, it looked like a brown and blue orb.
Its capital, Thune City, like the rest of the planet's
inhabited zones, was built on canals whose stagnant
waters attracted insects. Thune City's narrow streets
ran alongside the canals, with tall buildings made of
a dirty-looking yellow stone. One of the city's points
of interest was Merchant's Bridge, a large bridge that
spanned a whole canal and was covered with market stalls
and traders. (Adventures in Wild Space: The Escape)
Weik system.
The planet Weik was a nexus of Force energy, flowing freely among the mountains and fjords. Although the
planet developed a rich biosphere, Weik never developed sentient life. Located on the fringes of civilized
space, visitors to Weik generally landed on the planet by accident. An untamed wilderness at the edge of its
star's habitable zone, the planet was cool even at the equator. Heavy snows blanketed the planet during the
winter months, making it difficult for life to survive. A planet with small, deep
seas that froze over often, Weik's continents were crisscrossed by towering mountain ranges. The population centers of Weik were scattered and disparate, unable to unite around a single culture due to geographical obstacles. Inhabited for thousands of years, migration stalled after an initial diaspora occurred while the original colonists still had some of their technology. Organized around a feudal society, travel from one city-state to the next took months on narrow roads and across turbulent seas.
(Fantasy Flight Games "Nexus of Power")
(Adventures in Wild Space: The Rescue)
A jungle planet located near the Kalidorn system.
The Stinker was a long living creature that was native
to Xirl. The planet was a source of messages piggy-backing
on official channels, calling on people to resist the
Galactic Empire. (Adventures in Wild Space: The Snare)
